On behalf of the Canadian Society for Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, we would like to invite you to take part in the CSBMCB’s 50th Anniversary. This international meeting is entitled: “Systems & Chemical Biology” to be held at the New Residence Hall of McGill University in Montréal, Québec, Canada. The event will take place from Thursday July 5th to Monday July 9th of 2007. The Society plans to celebrate this special commemorative year with a little jazz music. The 2007 CSBMCB meeting will coincide with the Montreal International Jazz Festival, which will take place from Thursday June 28th to Sunday July 8th. The festival, a venue of choice where the most famous and talented artists converge, offers all the intensity and finesse of jazz at its best.

The meeting will include sessions on Systems & Synthetic Biology, Chemical Biology, Chemical Genetics, Bioinformatics, Chemical Genomics and an annual meeting for the Canadian Society for Sytems Biology (CSSB). The annual meeting of the CSSB will take place on Thursday July 5th. The list of speakers that have committed to attend this meeting is once again outstanding! The meeting will begin with keynote addresses from leading Systems & Chemical Biologists. In addition, each of the sessions will contain multiple leaders in their areas from across North America and Europe.

There will also be CSBMCB awards lectures and poster sessions with presentations by graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Travel awards are available for trainees, and prizes will be given for the best posters. The journal Biochemistry and Cell Biology will publish a special issue devoted to the theme of this conference, featuring review articles and papers submitted by conference participants. This meeting is very popular and is limited to 250 participants, so register early.
